My F59I (no PH needed since no passenger service was intended and no head-end power equipment was installed) has entered "test service" on my friend's HO scale layout. Theoretically, the engine is serving as a test bed by EMD and NS for use on high-speed, dedicated service intermodal trains (RoadRailers, UPS pig trains, etc.). The engine still needs to be converted to DCC, still needs headlights, ditch lights, and red class lights (because they look awesome on a black engine), and needs some touch up painting before it receives a few layers of dullcote. While the heavy-duty prototypical modelers on the layout scoff at it, I sure like seeing this thing roll around with a string of Triple Crown trailers behind it! That's one ugly locomotive! Just kidding I kinda like it. I needed an excuse to go train watching, so I'll just say I need to go see one of those in action
By the by CNO&TP, where do you race it with the TGV's? It does kinda grow on you. You better get it patented or GMC will steal the design and put out a full size model and call it the MAC100HERO. I guess judging by the twin exhaust stacks, its Harley powered? (ok I'll go away)
Laughs out loud at Watah!!!!! Thats good, but the loco is different it does grow on ya!!!!! I like it thats why I may end up freelancing one in the B&O Capitol Limited scheme!!!!!!! Enhancement Blue, Gray, Black, with Delux Gold pinstripes!!!!!!! But don't fret thats undecided! So...... But anyway nice loco Jeff!!!!!
