    Rob,

Welcome to Trainboard, it is great to have you onboard. I have already checked your album and think your modelling is excellent.

You can post pictures straight from your rail images album to here.

This is my favorite from your album. It give the feeling of "shoot and duck."

    Welcome aboard!
The layout looks, great. Keep those pictures coming along! [IMG]

I see you have signalling, is that a working block system or a constant signal? If it is a working block system, can you briefly explain how you did it. I am trying to get ideas for my new layout.

    Again, it looks great.

    I like this one: [IMG]

The photo angle makes the building truly dwarf the train.

So, this is where you are hiding! I wish I'd found this site sooner. It's real good to here from you again. You will see me here a lot.

    Matt

The signals that you see are wired to show the switch point position. All of my mainline turnouts are controlled by air. I can get into that a little more later. I'll start a new thread for that. Anyway, when I throw the turnout, the air piston extends and activates a micro switch, which, in turn, changes the signal. It's not perfect, there are limits, but they will due for now. Since I am a DCC user, I power the signals off of my buss wires running around my layout. I found this to be really effecient and saves time and money. It also avoids running a kajillion wires to power a signal. I can go into more detail about this later in a different thread if you wish.

    Boxcab ,

The pic that you like is one of my favs. The building is not yet finished. This is obvious if you look at the different colors between the old recycled DPM pieces and the new shiny ones. The building flat to the right of the red boxcar was placed for that pic. Yep, a classic posed pic. But it did turn out nice though.

Here is a pic of the whole building. The coal mine on the "roof" is on a whole seperate line called the Lancaster Valley. I just blended the coal on the ground, at the mine, with the dark colored stone on the roof of the warehouse.

    Enjoy!

The building looks as sizeable as that first photo hinted!

It's surprising how few people with industrial/manufacturing areas on their layouts have a structure this large. Except now and then as a flat.
