I just saw that Caboose Hobbie is about to bring our a plastic version of the Tunnel Motor SD40T-2 and SD45T-2 this Feb. Intermountain Railway is making them, does anyone have any experience with the quality of models from this company? Previously there have been no plastic versions of this deisel available, it's about time!

This is actually kind of old news. Reference http://www.trainboard.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=9;t=001985 from June 20th of this year.

Or just run a search in the N scale forum for "Tunnel Motors" and you'll see about 4 or 5 threads regarding this release. It is going to use an Atlas drive, and the detail should be pretty good. I am anticipating a solid product, and have reserved 4.

Thanks for the heads up, I didn't realize that it was old news. I have just recently gotten back into the hobbie and was flipping through a mag. and saw the ad. I would love to have a couple to lash up with my existing OMI SD40T-2, as a man can hardly afford one of those, let alone mutiple! The models would be great with an atlas or kato mech!

    Dangerboy,

You have it wrong. Marty from IM has stated on the Atlas forum that these will have the same motor that Atlas is using right now. That means it will have the new 'slow' speed motor, which should match up very nice with Atlas's newer releases.
