Just thinking out loud, I think a beverage truck trailer would be a nice addition in the N-scale vehicle market. Athearn makes one in HO scale in Coca Cola that looks great - maybe they'll pass it on to N. We have RBL beer cars to distribute cans & bottles and tank cars to carry corn syrup. Soft drink plants and breweries are easy industries to model, which could use beverage trucks to complete the scene. My Coke box vans and stakebed truck are nice, but I'd add a few beverage trailers add to the variety of the fleet. Any other new product ideas out there? Tim
Well, I think there are tons of vehicles out there that we need, but one who's "time has come" is an N-scale auto-carrier. With the influx of Autorack cars in N-scale, this truck will become a more sought after piece in my opinion. I think it will have to be an etched metal model to be intricate enough to look good yet still keep a reasonable price. I'm no expert but I don't think the designs have changed that much since the sixties/seventies so it could accomodate most eras without too much of a stretch. Walthers did one in HO, but I don't think there's ever been a decent one in N-scale.
Stay tuned </font>[/QUOTE]What's that, Alan? Did I catch a wink? Hehe [ 11. July 2003, 01:32: Message edited by: Mike Skibbe ]
Little here, little there. Just finished up some Santa Fe passenger cars. I did a 60' RPO from DPH etched sides on a core kit. I tried out the Alcad II chrome paint on this model and am VERY pleased with the results. I also finished lettering a PRB Santa Fe combine to use as a rider car for a SF Fast Mail Express train. I've also been tinkering with some Nn3 stuff for a coffe table project. First up was a Sloan/Grey 0-6-0 tank locomotive kit that I've been working on. As a side project I've been gathering all the information I can find on Dearborn Station in Chicago. I want to build a model of it in the future, so I am drawing up some AutoCad plans to assist the endevor. Oh... then theres the "secret" project. We'll let Alan spill the beans on that though... = )
I'd like to see some etched brass high power towers. These are seen all across the country yet a quality American style would be a popular item.
