Just thought I would introduce myself. I am new trains and almost to old for them also. lol

I am a retired computer tech and wanted to find something to do so I'm taking up trains ( N Scale ).

So new I don't even have a table started but I did buy Digitrax Super Chief Xtra Set Radio Equipped, PR3, DS64 some track (Unitrack)
a Loco and a few cars. The down side (the DCS100 crapped out already after 2 uses, not a good start so far.

My goal is to build a layout and computerize it. My weakness is track planing so I'm kinda stuck at the moment.
    I have room for a 10x4 with a 3x3L.

Anyway thats me and what I'm up to.

That does sound like a painful start. Was the system new/under warranty?

Besides that, welcome aboard and always remember...there's no such thing as too old for trains!

Welcome aboard, JerryAb. You are never too old, nor too young, for trains.

It was under warranty. Only used it 2 times after I bought it.

Hey Jerry, happy to welcome you to the Train Board. Please be careful when saying "Too Old". We Olde Phartes take exception to them terms. Aside from that, we'll gladly help anyway we can, especially in N-Scale. All the others just wish they had our exceptional eyesight and fine motor coordination in our fingers, but they have to work in HO, O, or even (ugh) G-Scale....LOL

Hello! I am also from Grand Rapids and starting my model railroad journey.

Have you visited the Grand Rapids Model Railroad Historical Society? They seem to be the largest club around town. The building is in Comstock Park: http://www.grmrhs.org/
