    hey guys,
well i finally started. i have no idea what my track plan is gonna be, but its 2x4 based, and it has an oval.... that was my goal for tonight. i have switches in place for a passing track, which will also have switches for a loco pocket, and 2 or 3 industry sidings. if anyone has any reccommendations, or happens to have a UP or SP switcher for sale...or really anything thats kinda short and 2 axle let me know! my CNW C144W aint gonna last too long on these tight turns!

    thanks yall,
    -Rob

heres the new update, the passing track is in, and the main switch to all 3 of my industries is present. it will be a switchback with the tail being one industry, and the other two legs being the other two. im debating a 4th, tank car facility in the upper right hand corner, but im afraid i will end up cluttering everything up.

my main fear has occured, the inner loop is indeed too sharp for my long engines, so i have nothing as of present that will make the turn. and as a college student, probably wont have anything in the near future. anyways, it will still push on!

    thanks for looking,
    -Rob

Nice start Rob. Check E Bay for that switcher or GP7 - 9. Sometimes you can really get good buys there.

thanks for the input, ive seen many good deals, but i just dont know what road name to go with! this is freelanced (im pretty sure) so that doesnt really matter. im thinking SP or UP might be good, althoguh i'd like to do a roadname that is somewhat scarce, such as southern, or clinchfield, but i dont know what type of switcher (like a sw1500 or something) that they used, i know they had GP7/9's which shouldnt be a problem at all. anyways, here is the approximate final track plan, it will change, but it should keep me amused for the next hour anyways. let me know of any changes i may want to make.
    thanks for the input guys!

and yes, this is a college dorm room, on a 2x4:) great, aint it?!

Excellent work just goes to show you dont need a huge basement to enjoy this hobby. You will have hours of enjoyment just switching the industry. Look forward to seeing more pics
