I moved my plans to this forum too.

I have made a brief plan about how to extend the SR&WF behind the recently made Hump Yard.
Paul Cassar suggest that I show it up here to get any comments from others.
One reason to the extension is that after joined the NARA I "must" have connections to real interchange points.
The drawings that follow try to show my idea

At A. the line to Waynesboro start at the hump yard and "ends" at D.
The line from Hill stn start at G. (an unused turnout since 1988) going uphills and "ends" at C. for a connection
    to Covington.
(These "ends" might start a future extension)

A bridge of some kind will be built between H. and J., and a 150 yards concrete bridge 30 ft above the yard will be
    built between K. an B.
The grade between E. and F. is 2 %. The area between the main lines is not planned in detail - this is an one-year
    project.

To be able to locate the connection points for the extensions I add the current layout plan:

Looks like a neat operation Helge! Does your wife make you come in for bed time, or can you play late at night? HA! :D

Helge, you and The Boss are doing a grand job on your extension! I am still installing stall tracks on my roundhouse. I got into some fumes that put me down for several weeks, but as soon as the weather gets a little warmer, I hope to continue on my project too. I am proud of your work, you are Master Modelers, both of you, in my book! I know you are enjoying yourselves! :D
