I am looking for some infomation on the following industrial locomotive.

There is a small plate on the "dash" that states:

Colorado Bureau of Mines Undergound diesel permit #303 12/1/64
    Manufacturer Gibbons & Roberts Inc.
    30 HP Serial# 2A30925

No other markings could be found anywhere.

Gauge appears to be 2 feet, did not have a tape measure. Will go back an measure at a later date.

I have never heard of a manufacturer called Gibbons & Roberts, and could not turn up any info on them.

Does anyone know any thing abuot this loco?

    Thanks

    Tom

    Tom-

Is this an electric critter? I know a fellow here in Montana, who worked his way through college in mining. He might have an idea.

    Boxcab:

Thanks for the reply. I think that it is a diesel, with the air filter on the right hand side. It appears that there amy have been a mufler on the right front also. Did not have much time to look, the photo was taken between downpours. Will go back later this week, and get a closer look, and make some measurements

    Tom-

Although it does say on the tag you quoted, it is a diesel, they have it so well blended in, I thought perhaps I'd read things wrong.

Sent off an e-mail. Will see if I receive any clues in return.
