okay guys, i know this is a long way off, but i see this as an opportunity to meet other members of trainboard, and run some trains all at the same time. so who's going to NTrack East in Chantilly this year?! lets get talking about meeting up for some dinner or something while we're up there. luckily for everyone (unfortunatly for me...) the wont have 24 hour running from what i have been told, if they did, i think i'd be operating local switch jobs for 3 days straight. sad, yes, possible.... im a college student, i dont need sleep!!! anyways, lets plan something! Harold, are you going? and where are you staying? -Rob
Not Harold but yes we are going and will be staying at the NSC host hotel. We'll have a "suite" and sell out of one room. We're bringing our modules and they are supposed to be setup with the OKC Club's loop.
We will be there and have our booth set-up at the Train Show Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Showing some new items also.
Steven: Which show will be going on on Friday? THe Train shoe at the Dulles center is Saturday & Sunday. We'll be there as well.
Dulles = Chantilly. One and the same. Yes I will be there with my partner in crime. Just spent a wonderful two mini-holiday tracing the Southern Railway's route (now N&S) from Alexandria, where we live, through Orange VA and on to Charlottesville. Montpelier Station (a former stop for the DuPont estate there) is an absolute gem to model which is what we will be doing over the coming many months. Took over 120 shots of the tight area it includes and there is a gem of a station, former general store, several dwellingsand a private siding as well, etc. etc. , etc. Will post on progress now that we have decided on the scene we want to model. PS saw several freight running through while we were there on both days, but Amtrak also serves that line too.
I spoke to them Yesterday and they didn't say anything about a Friday show. Friday is supposed to be setup for the show.
Wig-Wag: Details are still developing, however check on the following N scale convention web page: http://www.bigtrainlayout.org/caplimited2004_friday.php You will notice a 'Preferred Venders Sales 3-10pm. (under Track 2 Expo Center heading) If you have signed up with Greenbergs, then that should notify you as details are worked out. If I have other info I'll send off forum.
There will be an N scale swap a rama at the N Scale Collector Convention Hotel on Friday 9AM until 2PM I thought there was reciprocal agreement between the 2 conventions for some activities. Hope this helps. Jerry
Rob, I saw John at the shop yesterday and we discussed the show.... I'll drop you a line with more details. Harold
anyone else hear there wont be 24 hour operation? anyone else depressed about this? im a college student, i dont need sleep!!! i was gonna be the one guy with at least one train running at all times, lol! oh well.... there will be more...
Its not really that far off. After all, it will be over before the Atlas Forum comes back! I'll be there from Wednesdat night until Sunday night. Looking forward to meeting several of you.
As a non-NscaleCollector Member, I will likely only be attending the open Greenburg Show (and likely only for one of the two days). The NScale part of this event is limited to NScale Collectors Memebers only, correct? Regardless, I live here in Northern VA (Manassas, about 5 minutes from the NS Mainline, Manassas Yard, VRE's Broad Run Yard and the NS "B-Line" Junction to Front Royal (part of Manassas Yard). So getting there is an easy trip for me! I am hoping to see one or two of my friends from Atlas there, at the very least!
I will be there with 2 of members of our club,SONS-Society of N Scalers in Royal Oak Michigan (Detroit area). We are all looking forward to it. Gene Maddox Modeling the ATSF/BNSF or better known as the BIG NEW SANTA FE
I was planning on going, until it became evident we will have a shop move over the end of July, possibly coinciding with a home move. Dang!!
