Hi: I am Carl Mesrobian. I have been involved with N scale with Northeast NTrak for almost 7 years. I got hooked in the late 60's when my brother gave me a Revell Rapido set for Christmas one year. I still have the engine and possibly the consist, although in the past years I've accumulated several engines and cars. I also use the Faller Car System on my one (so far) module in the club. This combined with a trolley causes some great reactions at shows. Recently I've come to the realization that DCC is pretty much a requirement these days and plan on putting decoders into LOTS of engines, including sound in several, USA and UK steam engines. Lots of hard wiring, but my small home machine shop can handle small work! I also use SMD components to help minimize space where needed. One challenge I've given myself is to reduce pizza cutter flanges on loco wheels by using one of my benchtop lathes (Sherline and Prazi). I also would like to scratch build a structure. - too many projects!!
Hi Carl, Welcome. Happy to have you on board, especially that you are an N-Scaler. Sounds like your machine shop gives you many opportunities for creativity. I look forward to seeing where your imagination leads you.
I'm also in Mass and an N Scaler. I'm in Webster, hard on the Connecticut border. I work in Worcester
Welcome aboard, Carl. You do seem to have quite a lot planned, hope you'll share reports as things progress.
Always good to see another N-scale modeler! I'm new here as well. I'm modeling a 12' x 13' N-scale layout in Southern Pacific in the 1990s. Welcome!
