Find the aisle filled with racks of 2 oz. plastic bottles, and buy the cheapest brand. The last ones that I bought, I paid 39 cents each, after Christmas sale.

I'm amazed Tracy. Once you opened the package it was all systems go. Did they give ideas for color schemes? The building is coming out sweet. BTW just got back from Michaels and you're right they had the 2 oz bottles galore. they weren't on sale but still only 99ยข. Previously I was looking in the "Fine Art" section and the acrylics were way more money! Thanks for the advice.
The buildings are looking good guys! Wish I was that good at them. But that's out of my comfort level. Maybe one day.... For now, I've finished up my SP SD40R, just need some touch up paint in places and a dirty weathering job. I've tried to make it a "true" rebuild unit by following what is listed on the Espee railfan site. I added the access doors in front of the DB housing (taken from a beat IM tunnel motor), full light package, and a permanent MU cable on the nose (scratchbuild stands and a SE cable). Along with that, I did all my normal detailing, with the added brake lines on the truck side frames. Oh, and this one got an engineer Mike

I'm new to this also, my first time replying. I 've found acrylics at Wally world. I use them for the mountains I carve from foam. They cost .57 cents for a 2 oz. bottle. Limited color selection. They have more for $1.17 for 2oz. bottle. Spray real well with proper thinning. I use a Pasche VL with a #1 or #3 tip. Gary
GN X218 Just finished this caboose. GN X218 is a 30' wood caboose. It was made from a standard offset cupola caboose. I had to add a wider cupola. The GN's are time comsuming. It had 20 windows. I sanded the caboose smooth and then scribbed the wood siding. The end rails are from Gold Medal.............
Hey Mike I think your engine came out really nice. That detail work is as hard if not harder than building a wood laser. You'd be fine with it.:tb-wink:
