That is good news. Now I have to find out what roads they are offering so I can research some log cars and cabooses! Welcome back Don, it's been a while!
To view photos of the preproduction Shay see this thread on TrainBoard ===== http://www.trainboard.com/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=9;t=002833 ===== eNjoy
I don't know anything about geared locomotives or logging operations, but would this model be a Nn3 Scale model running on Z track? Or is this regular N Scale?
These shays look great I'd love a little shelf layout just to justify purchasing a shay. Any ideas of a track plan I could use?
Yeah Paul,I've got an idea. Why not buy the Shay and some of the roundhouse Overtons and run an excursion train on your layout. This may come as a shock to a lot of people, but Shays were used for other things besides hauling logs to the mill.
I should go look again, but believe that it was Atlas showing the pre-production Shay? If so, most likely it's regular N scale. I don't believe that to date Atlas has done any Nn3. not saying they wouldn't in the future..... Boxcab E50
