Hi All, First post here. Returning to the hobby and building a Z scale layout after a long hiatus ( previous was N scale). I recently purchased an MTL SD40-2 and also a Digitrax DZ123M0 decoder. I had already installed a DZ123M0 in a MTL GP9 with no issue. Upon removing the shell of the SD40-2 and looking at the stock board I can see 4 small springs that are soldered to the board and these make contact with the chassis. If anyone has had a successful install with the DZ123M0 please let me know. I'm guessing that I can solder 4 small little jumpers from the 4 posts which hold and support the decoder to the 4 contact points on the board? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
Yeah, the SD40 got hacked. You either need to order a TCS DCC's MZA4 (order # 1695) or hack in the Digitrax DZ123Z0 that you have. https://tcsdcc.com/installation/z-scale/1695
Thank you Jeff, I'll see what I can do to make it work. I've seen some of your module layouts on youtube. You guys have some great looking Z scale.
