I need help with two things regarding two of my power supplies. They are MRC Tech II Railmaster 2400. Does any one know where I can get another throttle handle for one of these? I think the cat must have ate it! Any one have an old one they would like to get rid of or know of any place that I can purchase this part?

Also, does any one know if it is very difficult to change the light bulb for the power indicator? Also, what light bulb I should get?

Question: How many people will it take to change the light bulb?

Answer: Me and a most likely a little help from all of you.

Honestly, I would take the cover off and get one like the one that came out. Radio Shack, probably. Maybe MRC has a parts list? Could it be the power light is an LED or something other than a bulb?

Thank you for the 'handle' web site I will try to order that here shortly.

As with the light bulb/LED/visible wave length light provider I have not gotten to take the power supply apart yet. So I will let you know when I do. It may be in the next couple of days before I get to it though.

    Thanks for the help!

These power supplies are a bear to get into. At least mine was. The screws used to hold it together were a modifed Torx drive with a hollow shaft. I did not have any of those tools so I had to break the pin out of the center of the screw head with a sharp awl. Then my standard T10 Torx driver would fit in the screw head. To get the bulbs out you have to first push the light housing out the front of the pannel then take it apart.

Just an FYI for any one else that will need to order a handle. The handle arrived today and I was extremely excited to get it. Although, I am not as impressed as what I could have been. The handle looks like it is much less quality and it really does not fit over the rheostat. So after much delight in finding it for $2.25 and not so much delight with the $7.50 shipping (for regular ground.) So with that said I am not sure if I am truly impressed or not.

If I had to do it again. Order as many as you need to make them all match so that way it saves on the shipping. I am not overly sure how I am going to make it fit the actual power supply though.

On a good note the ordering process was very easy and the email confirmation came right away.

Sorry to hear about the bad handle. It figures that the handle would not be as good as the original. Nothing is made like it used to be. I to have a 2400, and its a very good throttle. Its been in use for 20+ years now.
