If you have heard or used these (steam #1022, diesel #1023) what do you think of the sound representations? I'm looking for affordable options to sound requiring DCC and these might fit the bill if the sounds are fairly realistic. Ben
Digitrax announced several N Scale PNP sound decoders in Denver. You may want to wait to see what they do. The sounds will be .wav files of actual locomomotives. The sounds will be downloadable. Rich
Thanks Rich. I now see the other threads concerning the Synchro Sound units. Should have done a search before I asked - I'm learning. I'm looking for alternatives to DCC sound to be used with my present DC layout. Too many non-compliant power-routing switches, too many non-ready locos (only my most recently purchased Kato locos are DCC ready). Am also considering a separate smaller DCC layout for the sound/DCC locos - PCM and Athearn and those that are sure to follow. Maybe some day I will get around to a large DCC layout but the work to convert what I presently have seems daunting. Ben
Ben, If you click on the link below yuo will see a thread with a review of the MRC Syncro Sound. I purchased one earlier this year and am pretty happy with it. There is also a link to a video I uploaded with sample of the sound MRC Syncro Sound
Paul, That sounds good. Will probably go for either the diesel or the steam. Or maybe both, the cost is within reason. Thanks. Ben
I am using one (diesel) which I purchased late last year and quite happy with it considering the price. It works well with multi-media speakers which I situated under the board. Cheers, http://cliffordconceicao3310.fotopic.net/c328807.html
