I'll give my nose (no the one on the loco ) a study against some photo's, I have to say that I hadn't noticed it, but on the Oakway I was concentrating on cab roof mods mostly so may not have been looking at the nose too closely. The Cannon brakewheel sounds like a reasonable mod to make though. Ref the cost, they seem to be getting down to around half list price from some retailers/ebay, which isn't that much more than an Athearn & a heap of detail parts. In fact with most projects you will end up with a small pile of detail parts left, as it comes with 2 different beacons, ditch lights, various antenna, 2 plows etc. Oh, we have run them with Genesis SD70 series, it sure wasn't faultlessly smooth, but they were not too bad. Otherwise the Athearn dummy trick works well, they MU with them faultlessly Oh, BTW another problem we found, the sunshades provided are massive! I reckon they are about 3' wide! They are actually wide enough to touch signal posts on our club layout! Mine now has a-line ones in there, not a major mod, but a big improvement.
