More New Roofs for MTL Z Boxcars

    I'm still working on 40' boxcars, but the plan is to convert all my MTL boxcars to new roofs, some with see through running boards, and some with running boards removed.

    I used .010" modified acrylic for the running boards, and .003" thick peel & Stick acrylic for the bowtie pattern roof. The actual roof piece is .015" thick clear modified acrylic. It gives a much lower profile appearance:

    I was searching for a way to show how see through the running board slots are, and this shot at high noon sunlight ( it was 90 degrees here today) kind of shows the see through effect.

    Here's a CNR Plug Door that I did today, unweathered because I am sending it along with another car to Tom Mann, so he can work some magic weathering on it.

    This car, and the one below it, I had a hard time matching the roof paint with the car, but the weathering should hide that small problem:

    Here you can see the color difference is more noticable. This time I decided on no running boards:

    I also like the weathering job in the first set of photos.

    They all look great! You must of found a big burst of modeling energy lately.
