Didn't realize that this was worth that much... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Riva-Rossi-/251526478484?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item3a90257a94
A superlative example of Keyword Spamming... http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-SCALE-TRA...167227?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item338e813fbb
I mentioned The Freight Yard's own Pepsi cars, which annoyed a certain manufacturer in Oregon that actually had the license to produce them. Here's an example offered without further comment: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Micro-Train...524613?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item3a8ff86805
...and I love carefully taken pictures with the train lovingly put on the track with the main drivers on the ground, the trailing truck on the ground and the rear tender truck on the ground.
Actually guys, Rivariossi nor Riva Rossi never made the John Wilkes pacific in N scale, and if this were an N scale model it would be beautiful....look at the paint job, semi scale handrails etc. I think it's an HO scale model, and yes they go for that much and more. And yes, there were a Mr. Riva and a Mr. Rossi who started the company way back when.... Otto K.
Looking closer, I think you guys are right, it is HO. (Yet, it was listed under N-Scale under Atlas...)
I think there are Many E Bay sellers on drugs. I have a couple of intermountain UP Cabooses I am about to list. I went through the listings and saw so much junk when I did a search of UP Caboose and Union Pacific Caboose. One guy has an old Bachmann wide vision caboose he is asking $24.95 for and the photo is of a Bachmann HO caboose. (He states that). It's pretty sad to see all the sellers that should be at a swap meet cluttering up the listings with their over priced junk. Don't get me started on the shipping. One clown wanted $7.50 to ship a single N Scale car. These guys should be on N Scale Yard sale on Facebook. There is a lot of second rate stuff for high prices there. Thanks for reading my rant. I feel much better now.
Well, Pete, following the illogic of their pricing, your stuff should go for three or four times more!
Late to this post... Clearly this is the HO model. It has sold in the $400+ range, and higher with cars. The N scale LV set is called "The Black Diamond"....
The seller is probably a popular member here and everyone will rip into me, but $380 is still a lot of money for an oval. http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-scale-tra...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
Probably on the high end. Although it is Kato Unitrack, and looks very decently built. Nice to see that a fair chunk of any proceeeds goes to a charity.
Minitrix train set, purchased in 1976 and only ran one time...$950 opening bid with a $1600 BIN?!! http://www.ebay.com/itm/MiniTrix-N-...116198?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item3a909a0566
Since this is 'post war' does that make it worth more (kind of like vintage or rare)? I also like the 'never was a toy for kids' comment too. http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-Scale-POS...523461?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item3f36a1f585
Yes, $950 is high for a fairly common Minitrix train set purchased in 1976... http://www.ebay.com/itm/MiniTrix-N-...116198?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item3a909a0566 But look, let's be fair. It also includes (and they don't even bother to mention it) a wonderful High Speed non-powered push toy with non-working replicas of N scale Arnold couplers!
The push toy aside, is that really a set? Or just some similar brand name stuff thrown together into a box? There are two WM cars. Having two of the same is unusual for a set.
