here is the start of the mopac gp7 bicentennial #1776. mix of an atlas gp7 long hood and trucks and the nose, cab, sill and frame from a life like gp20.

    Mitch,

Comparing your excellent model to the prototype it looks as though the red fills in behind the cab rather than being a stripe????

Are there decals for the unit or will you be custom making them????

i will be using oddballs decals for this unit. they are also available from microscale. hopefully before long travis(tc1) and myself will be doing custom decals. still looking for a printer that does as good as the alps did. eagle if you intersted now that i figured out what i need to do this thing, if i send the list of parts, i will bash and paint one for you, for a small fee!!!!

Looks good... I was actually thinking of doing the same thing for a similar prototype at one point. Now I know it will work.

Awesome engine, I love those Bicentennial loco's. I'm getting ready to paint a WP GP40 for my collection.

It certainly is a good job.

Where are the air tanks? I don't see any on the prototype, either.

Crash, er, I mean Flash, ;) I think the air tanks are under the sill above the fuel tank.
