What to do is the question of the day when you dont have Atlas Custum line turnouts and undr the table switch machines will be used.
Is there a preferred method of removing the lil tabs with the screw holes for the side mount switch machines??Any other modifications that need to be evaluated??

I have done that before using a combination of "Sprue Cutter" type flush cutting wire cutters and mini files to shape the plastic left over into ties again. I used the Tortoise switch machine from underneath. [IMG]

    Thanks guys.
Robert, how did they look in the end?
I think i'll go with the custum lines for the rest of the layout but i had about 20 of these regular manuals and didnt want them to go to waste [IMG]

The turnouts I cut down did not look too bad. Not quite a custom line, but I had too many #6 electric switches to throw them out.
I used most of them at the front of the layout, in case I decided I didn't like them they would be easy to get to. I used them for several years. [IMG]
