Is anyone aware of a "modern" (meaning late 70's/80's and beyond) cattle trailer available in n-scale? Me and Google think no, but I thought someone might have done a nice etched one "off the grid" that we weren't aware of. I am aware of the Lineside Models trailer, (LS-2701) which seems very nice albeit "1960's" and kinda hard to find. I saw one at Caboose Hobbies in the mid-2000's but had no money for train purchases at the time. (why I stopped I have no idea, it was torture) Went back a few years later and can you believe it they didn't save it for me. ;-) Anyway, I model late 90's/early 2000's so a mid/late 90's one would be perfect, but frankly I would take one from earlier...they haven't changed too much and I think livestock trailers tend to have longer lives than one might expect so I could make it work. (heck I would still probably buy the LS one if I came across one) Figured this would be a prime candidate for a good etched metal kit if anyone was so inclined. I'll be in for a couple... Thank you for indulging my wishful thinking. Doug
HI Doug I have the lineside trailer and I updated it to 80/90's so it will work nicely. so keep looking. and yes it would be nice to see a new kit made. ED
Hello Doug, Around the first of the year I was talking with gentleman at trainworx and they were considering doing a modern cattle trailer. He makes super trailers so I'm hopeful that someday we will see them as well. I also asked for some gooseneck equipment trailers as well. Maybe some day. You might contact him and see what his timeframe is on them. Larry
R Plantz shows the Lineside trailer as available but out of stock. I've seen it and I think it's impressive enough. http://www.rphobbies.com/1960s-stock-trailer.html
Check out this one http://www.makemymodel.com/catalog/popup_image.php?pID=287&osCsid=3bbe2cb3268a213f301bc3227b8ea508
Or how about this one? http://www.makemymodel.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=28_42&products_id=1036&osCsid=d90307d56ae5df5cd57ed41cb90c7e72 The only problem is I don't think this company is in business any longer. Most of the items say "No longer in production" Allen...
Cool, thanks to everyone for the links and references. There seems to be all kinds of "potential" so hopefully something will spring up. The Make My Model stuff looks interesting but unavailable. Lineside offering is rare, and there seems to be at least two etched metal guys that have plans for one so...I'll just be patient! Thanks again. Doug
