Just found out I will be making a trip to the Minneapolis/St. Paul MN area in mid February. Does anyone know of any good N-scale related train shops in the general area.

I will be staying near Mall of America, and going to a worshok in Roseville. It would be nice to make a shopping trip out of this as well.

    Hi Jeff:

I used to live in Roseville about 6 years ago. Just so you know, it's quite a drive from the MOM to Roseville (40-50 minutes depending on traffic).

The 2 stores I used to go to were Scale Model Supply (482 Lexington Parkway N, St. Paul) and Hub Hobby (82 Minnesota Ave, Little Canada). They are only about 6 miles apart. There is another Hub in the city, but I never went to it.

Of the 2, Scale Model Supply had the better stock. The store is in the basement, so it's real easy to miss the entrance. Look for the door on the South side of the building.

I recall traveling several years ago to Minneapolis and I remember visiting a hobby shop in a basement. As I remember there was also three or four layouts in the basement as well. If this is the same place it is worth a visit. I remember they had a reasonably good selection there.

The layouts a Scale Model Suppy are now gone. But they do have they are the best stocked store in town. The best way to get there from where your staying is to go east on I94 and exit at Lexington Parkway. head north on Lexington and get into the far right lane right away. you will only have to go two blocks and you will see a Dairy Queen. Turn into the parking lot right north of the DQ. You will see a set of cross bucks by a door, that's the place.

There is also a store a little closer to the Mall if you like. It's called Hub Hobby in Richfield.

It's off of Penn Ave and Hwy 62. It's not very far from the mall so you might want to pay them a visit.

They don't specialize in N Scale, but they have a pretty good selection anyway.
