from Nscale mailing list can someone tell me what one is? Hi friends Just in case you didn't hear the news from the N scale Collectors Convention Micro-Trains announced the production of the FT locomotive for late (winter) 2001 ------------------ RR: K, C, & Bird Butt Railroad - SP, NS, and ROCK admirer. Its a coal mining region of a place far far away, that runs, SP, NS, and some CSX.. Also some Custom RARE Bird RR sd40-2's coming! Era: Time stands still round these parts, and we have everything from Steam, to Diesels of today.
The EMC FT was the forerunner to the F series of EMD locos - F2's, F3's, F5's, F7's, and F9's. The first demostrator units hit the rails around 1939 and was the diesel locomotive accredited for the beginning of steam's demise. Scans of paintings depicting 'as delivered' schemes can be found at http://pages.tca.net/lruback/ft_page.htm giving you a good look at what they are. There was an earlier thread on this topic that I couldn't find here in this forum. May have been in the Inspection Pit. Hope this helps. Gary. ------------------ Gary A. Late winter 2001 expected date? That means December 2001. Don't anyone hold their breath. That's a year and one half away. Sort of too soon to be announcing maybe.
I think they mean around Feb 2001, or late summer for us Antipodeans. Gary. ------------------ Gary A. Rose The Unofficial TC&W page N to the Nth degree!

Gary.

I asked the question on the aol board to the person who first posted the news. (he posted it before the "official announcement" The original post said 'winter of 2001 I askedif that was January 2001 or December 2001. The reply was December 2001. So who knows. I'll wait till MT posts it on their homepage. Either way I don't believe I will be getting any.
Thanks for the correction. Seems a long time to wait after pre-announcing. Most seem to hold back these days until it is in pre-production. How's tricks in CA, B? Gary. ------------------ Gary A. Rose The Unofficial TC&W page N to the Nth degree!
