    Hello People,

I am preparing to number 3 Atlas locos, this is new to me. I understand how to do it but the purchase of the decals is confusing.

Would like to get them from
Shellscale who seems to offer a better product for the NS crowd , but haven't heard back from him, if I don't then I have to go elsewhere.
These are NS & SOU models.

If I see it correctly to number 3 locos (2 GP, 1 GE) I am going to need 6 darn sets of decals.
Now I'm not talking about EMD/GE loco stickers or ACSI plate decals, just numbers.

2 simply as expected for different road names, but the number boards in their catalog is a mess.
I need 4 sets to number 3 locos, 2 for backgrounds (why can't the GM set fit the GE?) and 2 sets for numbers (why can't the GM sets fit the GE) Plus the yrs are all screwy for diesels it says 85+, my units are all older than 85.
This adds up to over $30.00. Seems like the backgrounds & numbers could be put on the same sheet for smaller amounts.

Any one know of other decal dealers they can recommend?

    Thanks!
    Ya all take care,
    ~mike

Shellscale makes EXCELLENT decals and they are superbly researched.

The problem is that the owner has AOL spam filters on and is probably not getting your mail. I had a large problem communicating with him several months ago, and finally gave up.

Good luck getting through to him, you might want to try the Postal Service.

If you have access to Ebay, you could contact him from there. His id is Shellscale. The site won't give you his address but it will get you in touch with him. Are you using the factory numberboards on the locomotives? If so, you may not need the different sets. The real numberboards are different on the GE and GM units. On my atlas and kato units, that I have painted and decaled for Southern, I just paint the factory numberboard black or white then add the decal numbers. I don't worry too much about if the numbers are the right shape for the unit.
