I really would like to subscribe the digital version, i was waiting for it since years, but it's a non sense that it costs like the printed and shipped overseas version. I suggest to review your pricing policy to be inline withdigital version of similar magazines.

The digital edition was set up for subscribers who did not have a local hobby shop in their area, were out of town and not able to receive their printed copy at home, or preferred not to have the printed copy. The digital edition was not intended to take place of print. Therefore, when we began this new venture, we chose to keep the digital pricing the same as print, letting our subscribers decide which version (or both) they would like to subscribe to. We are also working very closely with our authors, asking that they send additional photos, diagrams, track plans, etc., that we can share as a link in our digital edition. We are hoping to begin that with the July/August 2017 issue, giving you a lot more content than the printed version. There are fees associated with that digital link that will be incurred on our end, comparable to the price of shipping.
Please be patient. We are working out the details and will continue to work very hard at offering you a great magazine with cutting edge modeling, product reviews, Electronics, Nn3, and many, many articles on "How-To" on scenery, weathering, layout ideas for new beginners, as well as advanced modelers and more.
We appreciate your emails and suggestions, and will be looking at pricing and the content of the digital edition. Thank you.

I concur with Alex. When the cost of the digital edition is the same in and out of the USA I will subscribe to it.
It's nice that Pamela explained their reasoning although I disagree with it. I believe it's likely that you would get additional subscribers at a very low cost. The main reason I don't subscribe is the cost most of which I believe is the cost of mailing. I suspect that a digital download costs the same to provide no matter where one resides.
    Just my opinion.

You might want to talk to Joe Fugate about e-publishing. He has been growing an E-Zine for 5 years

And he has been doing a great job. I understand stand that MRH readership is only surpassed by the 800 lb. gorilla in the room (MR).

I should note that I subscribe to MR (digital) and MRVP as well. I also subscribe to Trainmasters TV.

The problem with Joe Fugate's E-zine is that it is overwhelmingly HO centric. True there are articles that are generic to all scales but it is, first and foremost, an HO offering. Were it not for the fact it is free I would not subscribe.

Sorry Pamela but there should be something wrong with the approach you decided to follow. All the digital magazine market is there to demonstrate it. They solved these problems years ago, I subscribed at least 10 different titles and your case is really unique.
All may agree about the same cost of the digital magazine and the paper one, what is quite out of context is the shipping cost on top of it and even more differences among geographies. that is a non-sense in the digital era. I am in europe BTW and i have no option to buy from the local store. Whatever those extra-fee to manage the digital version I think you will be surprised by how large the audience may become making it cheaper. Sooner or later it will be the opposite, all will be digital and one will have to pay extra to get a printed copy.

    Regards

I like having a paper copy of the magazine and it's a reason for me to head into my local hobby shop to pick one up. However if the digital edition was cheaper I would subscribe to that as well so I could have a copy on my iPad when I'm on the road.
