Glad to see these released this month. John I'm sure you'll be getting some too. I just placed my order with Loren.
Withstanding the fact that CSX doesn't have any Husky Stacks, but isn't the lettering missing an X or L on the sides? The Maxi-III's are CSL Intermodal aren't they?
Here is the prototype MTL modeled: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/pictures%5C12306%5CCSXT620304.jpg http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/pictures\12306\CSXT620304B.jpg http://www.micro-trains.com/Cuts/540-00-070_0307.jpg Notice the X in CSX INTERMODAL is painted out on the prototype and the model. Cool!
Joe, I sure did. I was planning to save up some money for future releases, but I can't pass up a CSX car. I didn't get that many. I already have six, and I still have to build the CSX maxi III. At least it gives me a better chance to match the MTL release. Randy, that is the problem when you choose a light color to paint the cars. Just look at the TTX. Is there truly a clean one. At least with BN brown, you cant tell it is dirty.
CSX I was going to toss the whole batch in a dryer to scuff them up a bit, but I've been a bit tied up with the SD40-2...I'll try better next time ) Joe MTL
Ztrack offered this one six years ago! LOL!!! Joe, I am looking forward to this car. It looks great! I also love the CBQ boxcar. Rob
Robert, You sly devil, these photos are of the Gunderson Maxi III! I thought they looked a little different than the Husky's! Pulling the wool over our eyes? Hmmmmmmmm Have a great day! Hobo Tim
Actually, it's MTL pulling the wool, as this is the exact reporting number that they modelled. But I still bought three of them......
Bryan, I heard that your set of Maxi III ran well in the show. Maybe I should have bought the rtr, because I am beginning to accumulate a lot of undone projects like you know who. Also, wheres the BEEF. I mean the pictures.
Well Worth the $$$$ John, You could purchase 3 Maxi III kits for every RTR Maxi III FR has produced. It cost $384 for my BNSF Maxi III It cost $125 for the Maxi III Kit You do the math! Want to save $250 and do it yourself? or pay someone else to build it? ------------------------ I have not built my Maxi III yet due to current projects and use as dimensions. When all has settled down, I will be building my Maxi III and paint it in TTX colors! Will be very nice! When I start building it, I will post photos of progression! Have a great day! Hobo Tim
That is the problem. I just dont have time. Between working a lot of hours and helping the kids with their homework, there simply not enought time for me to do it. Also, I am practicing my soldering skill on the Gunderson car first. One end came out pretty good, but I have to redo the other end. Most of my problems is because I try to do it in a hurry because I have so little time, and messing up in the process. Maybe I will have you build it for me. So who is ahead of me. Let me see. Theres Jeffrey, Bryan and his friends with the SW1.
