Just two months into a new joint track agreement, CNJ and LV freights collided head on at Laurel Run, PA on 12/26/1965. My memory is hazy about the exact cause, but I think the CNJ train ran past a stop signal. Fortunately there were no fatalities, but the collision must have set a record for number of Alcos wrecked in a single incident, including three LV C-628s, four CNJ RSs and two brand new L&HR C-420s en-route from Schenectady. Wow! It looks like the crew in the CNJ RS was lucky the loco was running long hood forward! It's still a miracle they survived such a collision. Doug
It seems to be one of those websites engineered to deter anyone from making use of its images. I have a number of books with excellent color photos of the incident, but photos of it are rare on the Internet.
If it is a question about 'hot linking', doing so is quite legal. It does not violate any copyright concerns. If a site does not wish their content to be viewed via a link, it is incumbent upon their webmaster to use the hosts tools (in their control panel) and set up hot link prevention/protection. We have seen this many times, where someone uploads a video to such as YouTube, and when linked here, you are redirected to view it on their site. Directly re-posting of a photo, without proper permission and then attributes to a photographer/copyright holder, is where there is a problem.
