Where can I find a log crane that rides on a flat car and bunkhouses that also are on cars? Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi,
Walthers do the "Barnhart Log Loader" in H0, this rides on a flat car with rails on it. As for the bunkhouses, I scratchbuilt mine, two of which are on trucks so they can be moved around if needed. If you wish, I can let you have drawings (So called) so you can make your own.
    Cheers friend.

I would be honored. I have only tried to build one thing from scratch but I am willing to try again. My first effort was fair since I had never built anything before. My email is Dragonfire555@yahoo.com Love your layout and the photography. I was showing your site to my wife this morning. My first engine I bought a month ago was a Bachman replica of a Shay that runs at Cass Scenic Railroad here in my home state of West Virginia. Gotta love that engine!

    EJM3,
Lucky you! You got to see the Biggest and last Shay built! The Western Maryland number 6! Its double the size of the Cass number 5! And is a 3 truck... One HUGE hunk of Shay locomotive! At 162 tons!

That is what got me hooked! It just took me years to admit it. I want desperately to go back in the fall when the colors sre out. Oh course my favorite era is steam.

What got me hooked on Shay loco's is the fact of a Lionel Shay made in 1993 or so (I think) that was of the Western Maryland number 6! I seen it, ran it, and loved it! EVERY second... Ever since I been hooked on the Shay loco's! Just a fasinating steam loco and how they work...I then began studing them to learn more, and to understand the differences between each of the different Shay types, from the small 2 truck 2 cylinder to the big 3 and 4 truck, 3 cylinder Shays... Just an amazing machinist accomplishment... :D

I'm now working on a MDC Shay, 3 truck to kitbash it into a 4 truck.... To model the Western Maryland's number 5!
