Two photos of Linndale. The first is of the coal dock and the second is captioned "Linndale Terminal and Yard looking West from Park Street". - Lawrence Baggerly Collection.
Roger, thanks for those. I LOVE those old coal docks, and it looks like a Pacific in the first photo getting her tender coaled up. I can't read the number. Did Larry give a year for those? I suspect the tower at Linndale is long gone?
Y'all probably know about the Barriger Library site, but if not, it is packed with thousands of excellent old photographs taken by John Barriger, III. . He was CEO of the Monon, P&LE, MKT and B&M during his career and carried a camera with him most everywhere. Warning though -- once you start looking at the pictures, you won't be able to stop. A lot of us have helped to identify the locations and sketch in a little history along the way. Enjoy! https://www.flickr.com/photos/barrigerlibrary/sets/
Hmm. This time pictures loaded for me. Does anything remain there today? Or is it all just a fading memory?
