Just got this tweet a little bit ago. "Lighting PCB kits for our new N UP Water Tenders are now in stock at the Kato online parts store!" https://twitter.com/KatoUSAInc/status/555501469789863937 http://search.cartserver.com/search.cgi?cartid=s-1078&category=&maxhits=20&keywords=928065&go=GO! So do these stay lit the whole time? They don't look decoder controlled or anything. That's unfortunate. Chris
Generally LEDs are only lit when it has the correct polarity going through it. So if you were to turn it around or reverse the polarity it will not turn on. Which is why DC Boards on most locomotives have directional lighting. So unless you have the tender facing the way the locomotive is, then no it wont be on all the time.
Check inside the box that the tenders came in - there are illustrated instructions there. It's pretty simple, though - 1. Pop off the couplers (they are simply press-fit to the chassis) 2. Twist the trucks until they pop off 3. Remove the access plate from the underside of the chassis by sliding it in the direction of the arrow 4. Install the contact springs 5. Install the PC board 6. Reassemble Cheers, -Mark
Thanks Mark!! I didn't even think about looking at the instructions that came with the Water Tenders! I appreciate your help.
