Letts at its height had a population of about 150. The strange thing about Letts and the railroad was that the depot was a train order and block station but had only a 10 car siding. This siding served the elevator and also served as a team track on the south end. -
Letts Corner may not have been popular as a residential area, but it apparently was important for the local economy.
Roger, that's one place I had not heard of before this post. I guess Indiana has as many small towns as upstate NY.
Yes it did. This was he Big Four, the CCC&StL It was very busy for a number of years servicing southern Indiana. And the small towns were very busy with grain elevators and people needing rides into the larger towns and back.
Fast forward 100 years and the main attraction at Letts Corner appears to be a golf course: http://wyaloosingcreek.weebly.com/ And less than 10 miles away there's a huge Honda factory churning out Civics and CR-Vs by the thousands: https://indiana.honda.com/
