WCL_JJ has asked me too post his layout design. He was wondering if you could help him decide what to do, like what industries to use and where to put the town and roads

    any comments would be appreciated

Hmm. It's not to scale so it's hard to say where towns or roads should go, but here's what I am seeing. Basically you have three loops (outer, middle and inner) with staging (good) and a yard on the outer, nothing on the middle (it shares a portion of the main with the outer loop as well) and three industries on the inner loop.

I would suggest changing the staging so it's double ended - this way you can send trains out in either direction. (Actually, I think there is a reversing section at the top crossover from the inner to middle loop.)

Change the turntable lead so it joins the yard lead, not the main line. This way you won't foul the main with engine movements.

And I think the best thing would be to move the industries so that one is on the outer loop, one is on the middle loop and one is on the inner loop. That would give a sense of going somewhere - and you could give them three different town names.

That's my 5 cents (no pennies in Australia)

I take back what I said about a reversing loop - it's not there - I was seeing things.

But what's the engine track for next to the staging? Seems kinda odd. Why not make that another staging track?
