    30 x 44 3/4 ac plywood base

To get started, should I paint it grey like rock, brown like dirt, or cover it with the green grass mat before I hook the track down?

By the way, my track comes with the roadbed on it (code 65 trutrack) How is the best way to hook it to the plywood, brads, screws?
Found one of the advertisers here that carrys all of the 65 track, so I think I'll just stick with it on this project.

If painting should I use brush, small roller? Flat, satin, glossy?

I won't be making it fancy like you all do. I'll be like that one guy on that train site that says he's a mediocre layout guy...thats me. Don't want plain, but I don't want fancy either

Won't be long an I'll be outta ?'s an quit bugging you guys.

    Thanx Much

    Hi Ronnie,

Any of your color choices will work, I painted my layout a tan. Found a wrong color mix at Lowes for couple bucks. If you use paint a roller or brush. Painting green would work also. Covering with a green mat will give you instant grass that you then can trim as needed. Sometimes I go with easy over cheap and then other times I go with cheap over easy.

What works for me, may or may not work for you. Just remember it is your railroad and you can do whatever you want with it. There really is no right or wrong here, just different. Do what you like, whatever works for you.
