Ran into some reliability issues with maintaining contact on a Kato FEF with Tsunami Sound Decoder I installed. Kept looking for that elusive gremlin with limited success. Then I bought a couple Keep Alive Capacitors. What a difference. I swear by them now. The locomotive will keep running for about 5 seconds if you pull the plug on the system without shutting down the loco with the throttle. Had a heck of a time squeezing that big of a capacitor bank in n scale but it's in, tender top sits correctly and above all it runs like you would expect. If I would have planned on it from the beginning I would have placed the speaker to one end instead of in the middle but it is the biggest I could get in with a scratch built baffle. Ran it for an hour without the baffle but lost about 50% of the sound without the enclosure. I am a believer. Should have done it sooner.
