First things first, welcome to Traiboard! Second, those diesels are sharp-looking! I'm not a CN modeler, but those are nicely done! Question- when did GTW have gray engines? The only color I remember them in was blue & red. Were the prototypes just quick paint-overs? Not nitpicking, just curious from a prototyipcal perspective. BTW: of you have any more engines to show us, by all means post 'em here.
The gray engines started out as old CN units sold to ALSTROM WHO IN TURN REFURBISH THEM AND LEASED THEM TO KCS WHEN THE LEASE WAS UP CN LEASED THEM BACK AND MARKED THEM FOR GT, THEIR ARE ALSO UNITS RUNING AROUND WITH WC MARKED ON THEM ALSO.
NICE WORK CHRIS! Thanks for posting. I really like the comfort cab. Was he hard to fit to the Kato body?
You have to do a lot of hacking and adding tabs in order to get it to stay, these cabs were made for to fit on the Atlas GP38 and GP40 units
iF ANYBODY WANTS THEY CAN GET THE CN/GTW DECALS FROM JIM AT HIGHBALL GRAPHICS. http://www.mgdecals.com/homepage.htm
Nice, I have a friend who is going to paint one of the gray CN-GTW ex KCS SD40s for me, yours gets me even more excited for it!
txcavgr have your friend get the n scale decals from Jim at Highball Graphics they come with all the lettering
I think he already made them. Didn't realize that Jim had this set done. I try to watch his site for updates pretty closely (I am always on his case for more SLR and QGRY sets!).
Looks good... The gray units are a unique choice. I assume you have DTI power to show? I wouldn't mind seeing those. Dave Los Angeles, CA -DPDP Model Accessories- http://eje.railfan.net/dpdp/ -Rail Radio Online-Home of the "TrainTenna" RR Monitoring Antenna- http://eje.railfan.net/railradioonline
