    Watash, etc
Have just picked up an English 2-8-2. Don't know anything more about it. What can you tell me about this line.

Petey, I never did know Mr. English, but my Dad used to coorespond with him.

Mr. English did make some fine engines. They did a lot of mailing drawings about things like which is better, spring loading drivers, or equalizing the drivers. I don't recall seeing but one of his engines that was sprung, and it ran smooth as silk, but there were several others that were made with solid frames, that ran almost as well on smooth track.

He would also furnish detail parts for Kit-Bashers, and Scratch builders. I tried to find an old add of his, but the three old magazines I found from the 1930 and 1940's didn't happen to have anything in them about him.

It should be a good runner, if the last owner has kept it up. If it is an early one, it will be mostly brass, the later ones had some Zamac die castings.

I'll second that "amazing" comment. I will tell you more about the eng. when received.
