Jason, the work was done by John Cubbin, www.ztrains.com and not by me. Be sure I don't let him go to N Scale.
There's no way to tell the first shot isn't real. The light on the water is especially what convinces the eye.
Yeah, I want to know where the model is? All I see is some railfan photos that someone is passing off as Z scale! All kidding aside, Juerg, these are the photos you are sending in to Model Railroader, right? Randy
Hello Randy I'll first ask Rob Kluz to show the Dioramas in one of the next Ztrack Issues but I think I'll send some pictures to MR later next year.
I think it would be great to see Z scale modeling (at this level) shown in Model Railroader. What are the over all dimensions of this diorama?
Hi, Just wanted to post a quick thanks for all the really nice words about this diorama... it helps to have a good guy to work for in Jürg and a terrific bridge kit from Micron Art to base the piece around! John http://www.ztrains.com
Amazing! Jurg, thanks for all the info on your site. John, simply amazing. Truly inspiring work. The only thing missing now is Tim's Maersk rolling across the bridge!
Hello Graves Here are 2 Quickshots as you requested. This pictures where taken soon after the Diorama arrived, so still some cleanup work to do. At the moment the weather is not so good to take pictures but I'll take some more when the sun comes out. Hopefully still this Year.
Next time you are putting down water, try painting the bottom the main color(s). Put down a thin layer of "water". After it dries do a LITTLE dry brushing with a silvery gray paint. I use my trusty 1/8 inch wide brush. Add a second layer of "water". Results can be pretty good. You can even do a second dry brush and add a third THIN layer of water
