Well we are almost there once again, the final stretch of the work week. Let's see what we have planned for the weekend.

Saturday: I'm pretty much a bachelor again this weekend with Angela attending some college soccer games so the only woman I need to have watching me is Jessica. She'll have to spend the day out doors though because I need the garage space to finish up my proof of concept replacement module. So far, it's coming out well and the design seems solid. Until it is truly finished and ready for track however, I won't know if it will make the final cut. I'm still tempted to go with the Masterpiece Modules Free-Mo kit. While expensive, the kit is made of 5 ply Baltic Birch and is a well engineered kit that resists warps. It would also give me an extra 6 inches of depth. For now however, I plan to finish this module of my design and see how practical it turns out before pulling the trigger on the Free-Mo kit. Of course there will be a bit of playing with trains as well and heading out to my not so local hobby shop.

Sunday: I'm trying to further organize my N scale fleet of cars by slowly updating with newer more prototypical cars and selling off older models. Currently I have a tray for operating the Galesburg City Job in 1960's and one tray for 1970's. I also have a box for New England freight that is made up of era's 1960's to 1980's. My next goal is to start researching cassettes. No not those devices that play music, but rather something our modeling friends across the pond use very effectively. I have some ideas and some material so that maybe what I do Sunday.

So how about you? What do you have planned for the weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 25th to see what we all accomplished. Until then, have a fun weekend, stay safe and as always...

    High Greens!

Today was a day off for me. I had my annual physical this morning, my wife is at her doctor right now, and at 4pm our dog gets her annual check-up. In between I'm doing laundry and the front yardwork got done.

I'm not exactly sure what will get done this weekend, but I am planning on spending some time on the layout. I might play around with some lighting, since I've got street lights on order and if I'm going to do that, I might as well add some interior lighting as well. There's plenty to do, I just need to focus on a section and get it done.

I'll continue doing foam work on my layout-in-progress, in preparation for actual scenery work. I dug up a wonderful fishing knife made in Finland, with a thin, unbelievably sharp blade that cuts down a lot on the little styrofoam balls that inevitably are produced when carving the stuff.

Or at least I'll try to do some work, shuttling between the layout room and the living room and the Star Trek movie marathon on TV (preceding the premiere of Star Trek Discovery).

Trains and starships. What a combo...:ROFLMAO:

I'm working on finishing up a paper bale project for the recycle center. Then vacuum the layout.

I’m working on a Jordan Ahrens Fox firetruck. I posted a thread in the HO section because I am looking for instructions for it, but I have been sanding and putting together sub assembly parts, like the wheel halves.

My ex and I went on another road trip to Santa Rosa Saturday to pick up my mail. Unfortunately, they had already forwarded it to my ex's, so hopefully, I'll get it on Monday. Next Saturday, I should be back home and I can get busy doing some necessary things done before i get to play with trains.

I forgot to mention that I got my Shapeways 3D printed spark arrestors for my MoPac GP38-2. Man are they tiny! They look great though![IMG]
