That cold chill you may feel in the air is a sign, get those last minute outside projects done and get ready for some Weekend Modeling Plans!

This weekend will be more of a getting rid of the past and expanding the new. Saturday I plan to load up the Cherokee with as many model airplanes as I can and get them sold at a local swap meet for RC planes. While I'm not getting out of the hobby per say, without a job that justifies such a hobby, there is really no sense in keeping so many aircraft. I could really use the money to help with the upcoming holidays and devote more spare time to the N scale projects. I hope everyone brings their wallets Saturday. Sunday is promising to be cold, so I may try to finish up the track plan for the N scale modules and work on my T-Trak bridge module. Stick a few domestic duties in there, and I have a nice rounded weekend. I'm also working on a project that I have kicked around for years and hope to give you all more details soon. It will be getting back to the custom detailed and painted projects using social media and other tools. I'll keep you posted!

So how about you? What is on your list for this weekend? How many are going to Milwaukee Trainfest this weekend? Let us know. We'll come back here on Monday the 10th to see how we all did. Until then, have a safe, productive weekend and...

It will be a quiet weekend in Moose Bay. I'd like to get my steamer fleet tuned up, and maybe start re-badging some more of the engines. One has a loose truck on the tender, and I need to do something to keep that truck from repeatedly falling off in service. I think there's a loose wire in there, too.

Then, I've been working on the first structure for Phase 3 of the layout, which is mostly staging but will have scenery at both ends. This one is a Cornerstone Modulars building, Quality Investment Casting. I've added some leftover parts from the tannery kit, also done with Cornerstone modulars, and expanded the building by adding a shipping/receiving section. The building won't be rail-served, but now it's got a trucking dock which will make a much better scene than the rectangular block it would have been had I simply followed the instructions.

A friend showed up at hockey with a 1961 Lionel HO train set, still in the box. He, of course, thinks it's worth a ton of money. I tried to give him a more realistic estimate. The exact set is on eBay right now, bidding to end tonight (Friday) and it was $88 the last I looked. But, I'll take it in to my LHS tomorrow and see what he thinks.

There's a hobby show on Saturday, just a stones's throw away, with a big train section, and of course I'll be there looking for bargains and treasures. That means more trains...
