Can you believe it? Seems like it was just yesterday we had the furnace on and complaining about the cold. Oh wait, in Illinois we were! Well right now it feels like June with temps in the high 70's and humidity right where it should be. Oh yeah and its also Memorial Day Weekend and time for Weekend Modeling plans!

Kind of Railroad related, despite my best efforts to work on my beloved railfan vehicle of choice, the '97 Wrangler, I've decided to find a newer model. I just don't have time to work on it anymore. Yes, I maybe one of "those" yuppie Jeep fans soon. Oh well.

Work on my friends O scale 2-rail is going along nicely. The frame is completely done and the primary color was shot last night. Masking, painting and decals are next. I hope to have the unit ready for decals by Monday. Work on my modules will likely take place. There is plenty of sheet styrene that needs to be secured down, scribbed and painted. Since the forecast here in Central Illinois is soggy until we all go back to work, it sounds like working on the modules will be an attainable task.

Of course, there are weekend parties, cook outs and vehicle cleaning and maintenance that will be done over the weekend but all in all, hopefully a nice three day break from work.

So how about you? What plans do you have for the unofficial start of Summer? Let us know. We'll all come back here on Tuesday the 31st and see how we did.

And please remember as you work on your model railroad, railfan, shop for a car or furniture and cook out this weekend, remember the reason for this long weekend. Thank the men and women in uniform who serve this country of ours that allows us to enjoy the freedom to have such things as a long weekend. Have a great one!

    High Greens!

    HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

At this point, it looks good for some serious model railroading. I plan on adding some more LEDs to my valance (needing more light). And - to keep going with my switch complex ground cover (Perhaps move into the engine servicing area. Perhaps work on my highway bridge.

Ya'll have a great and very safe weekend,
    Wolf

Probably very little time. I'm working toward getting some space in the garage, so further cleaning there. But the end result will be space for a table saw, to build some modules. Maybe this does vaguely qualify as some model railroading time? :)

Not sure what the weekend will bring. Going to the cemetery and remember my family members no longer here.
Remember those who paid the ultimate price for our country and our freedom.
Will run a train or two.

Doubt I will get any modeling done this weekend. Going to a coworker's party (he's Filipino and getting me hooked on the food) Saturday. The Indy 500 is Sunday so that day is shot and on Monday, The Western Conference Champion San Jose Sharks (Man! Do I love saying that!) are playing Game One of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Pittsburgh Penguins. It should be a great weekend.
