Well we did it. We made it through February and according to the calendar, we are only a few weeks away from spring! Lets start off March with some progress. Saturday: This is my last weekend to work on the small B&M switching layout that still needs a name. So far I have about 50% of the track down on the second module and still need to lay the track on the 2-foot staging module. So the goal is clear for Saturday. Go to my not so local hobby shop, clean them out of servo switch machines then get home and lay the rest of the track and hook up switch machines and wiring. With that done, I'll need to paint the track and hopefully have time to start the process to stain the edges for a finished look. Sunday: Because the layout is in the early stages, there will be minimal scenery and only a few buildings representing the industry. Murphy Manufacturing (Wife's maiden name) and named after her Dad is a automotive parts supplier. Because her Dad is a Ford fanatic, I'm painting the metal build Ford blue and by no coincidence, the vehicles in the parking lot will be Ford too. I still need to find and build Steenbeke & Sons Lumbar, once a staple of home improvement in NH as well as some other "New England" industries. Because of this stage of the layout, I'll make up signs to point out these industries and a bit about the B&M Railroad and Railroading In NH. Of course, domestic duties and the fact that Jared comes home for spring break will all effect progress so lets hope I can get a lot done. How about you? My momentum that I had over the last two weeks is starting to fade. My plans today are to start painting more bamboo skewers for trees. Nothing on Saturday and Sunday I hope to return to the train room and finish the crossing I started this past Tuesday. I have a few supplies in order and they should be here in the next couple days.
Saturday --- put the finishing touches on my F7 project. And -- install new light fixtures over my layout. Should be receiving some 4 foot warm white LED fixtures today. Sunday -- start of a new project... SP S-12 1446 or SW-1 Or -- perhaps get back to working on my layout. I have an idea for a used car lot.....HMMMMM Hope Y'all have a great weekend, Wolf
