Welcome back everyone to the gateway to the weekend. I hope you all had a good week, let's see what we have planned for this weekend. Saturday: I'm hopping a trip to my "not so local hobby shop" will be successful. I'll call first and check to see if he has the supplies I need as gas here in Illinois is now over $5.00 a gallon. I need to pick up Atlas code 80 flex, cork roadbed and a few odds and ends for some HO projects. Saturday, I hope to finish the construction aspects 2X4 NTrak module by staining the legs, gluing the top, adding the fascia and the backdrop. The goal is to start laying track before Monday. Sunday: I really hope to have the module inside and ready for track. I have my track plan made for the industrial switching section I hope to work on next after getting the three main lines down. We are taking Angela's Grandma out for dinner in a late celebration of Mother's Day as we were on our Honeymoon when the day is observed. Other than that, I guess we'll see. My main goal is to get as far ahead on the NTrak module as possible. So how about you? What do you wish to accomplish this weekend? Let us know. We'll come back on Monday the 6th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, be safe, stay healthy and as always... High Greens!
Nothing going on here just recovering from open heart surgery. I may get home either Sunday or Monday. Rock Jesionowski
Happy Friday to Y'all -- TGIF!! The only plan I have is to continue working on my movie tribute project -a teaser - another tank truck. (No - it's not from Duel) a much older film. And - perhaps start another project - yet to be determined. So darn many to choose from. Y'all have a great weekend, Wolf
I just want to let everyone know I got a message from dti406 aka Rick. He is recovering from Wednesday's surgery and took his first walk yesterday. Edit: I type so slow Rick posted his update while I was keying my message. Congrats Rick!
Happy weekend again all. This one really popped up fast after a 4 day week. My kind of week. Later today (Friday), I hope to be in the train room early, maybe run a few trains and spruce up a few things. Saturday and Sunday I have several things I really want to get done. One thing is spend some good time researching simple Cad or graphic software to start printing control panel covers. I need something that will save to an EPS file. My nephew has a commercial print shop and he has agreed to print my panel covers out of the same material that is used to cover trucks/cars with graphics or decorations. I will apply it to a thin metal or wood stock for my panel face. But first I have to get the software. The other tasks I want to do is either scenery or more work on the elevated bridge now that I have the other 2 bridges done for the layout extension. After typing that, I see an early Saturday morning cup of coffee in my future making the final decision on what really happens. All the best to dti406 and thanks for the update. Everyone have a great weekend whatever your plans!
I got a jump on the weekend. I woke up around midnight and finished wiring the Amp connector. This weekend I'm going to finish up the custom Unitrak sections at the layout seams. Then I'll check clearances in the two tunnels. When that is good I'll put the layout back in its proper position and possibly run some trains. This weekend is the Mid Atlantic Air Museums WWII weekend. I won't be attending but hopefully I'll be treated to seeing some vintage aircraft overhead. Have a great weekend!
Our house is ready and so is the workshop. Now I can finally start building the layout. Have a great weekend everyone
Hopefully the weather will cooperate and I can get some plants in the ground. Then there are a bunch of little house projects. I have a Con-Cor Tropicana reefer, four Roundhouse wood express reefers, and a Walthers Lackawanna wood reefer to weather. There are three Roundhouse box car kits I need to paint the floors/underframes. I have two Walthers NYO&W wood boxcar kits to build.
Moose has had a productive week in the scratch-building world ... and hoping to continue it this weekend, but that means it must rain! Friday: Grocery shopping with Mrs Moose. Yeah! Saturday: Yard work or continue scratch-building brewery buildings by building exterior steps and maybe starting on some interiors for the loading/shipping docks. At some point, Moose needs to get back to the humongous-for-Moose's-layout warehouse scratch-build that is adjacent to the brewery. Sunday: See Saturday. Happy weekend everyone -- and fast and healthy recovery to Mr. Rock.
Good morning all and wishing Rick a speedy recovery. I have been working on the new grade crossing on the Carlin section and hope to wrap that up this weekend. Also the new dermal tool came in so I may be able to get started on the pair of scratch built crossing signals that will go to the old grade crossing near Battle Mountain. Have a bunch of domestic projects plus the cat has another vet appointment on Saturday so we'll see how much actually gets done. Have a great weekend everyone whatever you end up doing.
Good job @dti406! Now all you have to do is be better. Looks like lots slated for work-ups. I spent Tues., Wed. fishing (mostly driving). Spent one night at my daughter's new digs. Have been invited back to go fishing with the boyfriend and his son. Chores today including dental Appt. (Just check up.) Then...at some point...I will start making a vehicle. All have more fun and a safe weekend.
Wow ! $5.00 would be a bargain here in California. This morning I saw for the first time over $7.00 for premium.
Great to hear that surgery went well Rick! Prayers for a speedy recovery! Not sure if any trains are going to make it into the weekend or not. We just returned home from a college visit to UGA. The visit was great but after Thursday afternoons and Friday afternoons drives across Atlanta at and near rush hour, my nerves are about shot. Saturday morning we have appointments for my son to get his senior photos taken plus the wife has set him up for some extra pics as well. The big news is that after pics, we are going to pick up his new car. Dealer let us know it arrived today and will be ready for pick up tomorrow. He's super excited. Sunday, will be catch up with everything else day. Will probably spend some time continuing work on the TrainBoard slide show for the N scale convention. With all this, I feel like the weekend will be over before we know it. Hope you all have a great weekend! Oh, I won't mention that gas here is just $4.19 a gallon
Still in the process of sorting and organizing my collections. I've donated a lot lately. Leaving enough wood to start a layout. For one reason I'm glad I no longer have gas burning machines. Gave away 4 gas cans already. Just need to charge the bikes batteries.
Rick, wishing you a speedy recovery! Just got back in town this afternoon and heading out for Thai and/or Lao for dinner. Going to be a quick turn as Tuesday is the first day of, drum roll please, The Road to Nashville. The first leg of our journey to this year's N scale convention. With that in mind: Saturday: Most of the morning is about cleaning and prepping the Highlander. The afternoon features a family wedding. Should be a good time. Sunday: Planning one more trip to the storage unit for train stuff. Need to get my swap/sell box together. Later on, we will deliver a wedding gift and finish prepping our ride. A little modeling-related activity with a low threshold for accomplishment. Stay safe,
Everyone take care with health issues. Plan to continue work on the Eads diorama I am working on, and just maybe clean up some wiring on a base for the C&L maybe? But doubt it
I am recovering from COVID, I am thinking about getting a new bookcase like I have for my records for the other side of my L Shaped desk so I can organize my modeling supplies...
