We've about come to the end of this work week, time to get ready and lay it all out on the table. It's time for Weekend Modeling Plans! I just can't seam to escape model airplanes! After having a great weekend last weekend in Springfield Massachusetts, I have to work this weekend in Urbana Illinois at a thing called E-Fest. I've been working this show in some capacity almost every year since it started up 10 years ago. From a vendor, to employee, to magazine editor and back to a vendor. Could be worse though. With this show going on, nothing will get done in the shop or on the layout as I'll be at the U of I Armory all day Saturday and most of Sunday afternoon. I should make it home in time to watch the Superbowl. So how about you? What do you have planned this weekend? Bench work, room prep, maybe a bit of structure work? Let us know! We'll all come back on Monday the 8th to see how we all did. Until then, stay safe, have a great weekend and... High Greens!
Unless USPS lets me down... We won't get into what i think of them, uh, play with an Atlas Shay is on my to do list! Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Hope to work on my N Scale SW-1 (Re-lettering into SP Tiger stripe # 1004). And - to continue working my oil and water column bases. Wolf
It's supposed to be a nice weekend, so I will spend it indoors building the kits that I found last weekend. My Fred and Red's Café got some paint, but it didn't dry enough for me to finish it. Hopefully this weekend!
Benchwork for me if I can carve out any time. No time Saturday but hoping Sunday will let me get ply fastened down (it is already cut), homasote cut and fastened down, and opening for turntable cut. If I am really lucky I'll get the track plan I printed out from xtrackcad transferred to the homasote.
Likely continue building a box car kit. Might add window glazing to caboose which is otherwise complete. If the Super Bowl stinks, will probably get more accomplished.
I'll be at the Timonium MD train show (in the aptly named Cow Palace at the Fair Grounds) on Saturday talking trains, taking pics and generally being a goon. Sunday finds me NOT doing trains but rather priming the new ceiling in the front hall . . . .
Wish I was with Philip. I've been to Timonium and want to return. For me this weekend I will start by working on two HOn30 locos that had decoders installed by a friend. One I will finish by hooking up the lights. The second needs a whole new decoder since he fried the one he put in. Then Sunday, as my wife puts it is stupid bowl day. So I will ignore the stupid bowl and work on the layout. I want my son to start ballasting while I plant the trees I made this past week. Then I will make more trees. Other items on to do list I hope to complete soon are: Wiring- running feeders Track- lay the lead to the staging yard Scenery- cut some cork for the saw mill and glue down, plaster cloth the small hill, cut out the pond Planes diorama- glue foam board, cardboard strips, plaster cloth. Scratch build my much needed fire tower Paint- airbrush fire tower, locos, and rolling stock
