Good morning, good evening, wherever you may be, it's time to pull up a chair and discuss what plans you have in the layout room. Saturday: My weekend starts a little early for me today at 4:00 as I leave work with modules loaded and I head to Decatur. I'll be setting up the Burlington end of the Galesburg City Job with my club, NSBN and their T-Trak modules. So Saturday I'll start by having breakfast at my favorite Decatur diner followed by an afternoon spent running trains, both roundy round and operations. Sunday: Will be more of the same. Typically I run the City Job as 1960's CB&Q on Saturdays and 1970's BN on Sunday's. We'll see, I don't have a lot of space so I may just adhere to 1967. Of course the weekend will involve bull sessions with friends, hanging out and buying train "needs" as well as dinner with friends. All in all, it should be a fun weekend. So how about you? What is in your plans list for the weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 23rd to see how we all did. Until then, have a fun weekend, be productive but safe and as always... High Greens!
No modeling this weekend. I am participating in an annual cowboy event. Yeah - I am playing an 1880's cowboy --- yee haw!! LOL. Hope Y'all have a great weekend!! Wolf
More wiring. Goal this weekend is to complete the entire east bound mainline around the attic. It will be wired through the block occupancy detection system I'm putting in for future signaling. Then I'll start switching the entire west bound mainline (which is fully powered) over to the block detection system. Also, hope to get the "WYE" wired up this weekend. I have a stub-end staging yard as the tail of the wye, so I'll hook up a spare Digitrax AR-1 to the whole staging yard and see how it goes. Have a great weekend all.
I've got another detailing experiment I'm working on, plus sanding and weathering a road. Not sure how much time I'll have for the layout.
This past Monday I was able to get done what I wanted to do on Sunday. Good thing it happened Monday. I had to go buy an electrical switch. Spent all day working on the turn table and now it works. Today I will use up the last of my tree making material shown in the pic. This is what is left from a 24 foot length of furnace filter material. I will then evaluate and see if I need to purchase more. Once these are done I would have made just over 300 trees. Sunday I hope to work on the turntable area. Monday I visit my LHS and pick up two structure kits I ordered. I am also collecting materials for another section. I am going to put in a national forest campground. There is a group of mischievous bears in the area reeling havoc among the campers .
I honestly planned on scratch building a speeder shed, I even bought new X-Acto #11 blades...but yesterday I took an 8.5 mile hike out of Strawberry, AZ down to the springs that start Fossil Creek. There is one way in and out, and that trail has 1500 feet in elevation change. The first two miles back up is the worst, a steep climb on uneven, rocky ground. My ankles are so sore, I wound up just sitting on the couch all day...oh, I forgot to mention, there are multiple signs stating that there are 200 people rescued each year, and 4 fatalities last year....
