Another weekend is fast approaching as we slide through the month of August, what do you plan to accomplish this weekend?

I decided to take today off and get some things done that may or may not have anything to do with trains, that still remains to be seen. Tomorrow, my club has a work day, getting our new yard wired up and ready for the fall show season. After that, probably not too much as Sunday I'll be attending a plane show.

So how about you? Club work or individual work? How about shows? Any open houses? Maybe some time to try a new technique or two. Whatever your plans are, let us know what your up to. We'll come back here on Monday the 20th and see how we all did. Until then...

Last week, I was all excited about the decals I'd made on my new printer. This week, well, now I've got some concerns. The decals looked good on paper, as they say, but when I applied them to the boxcar they fell apart. I'll try a couple of different settings on the printer over the weekend in hopes of getting decals that won't lose all their color. I suspect that the ink on this printer (a Canon Pixma) works differently than the HP ink on my old printer, and it's not bonding to the Liquid Decal Film I use to set the decals.

More delays. The static grass from Silflor won't show up at my LHS for another week or so, but at least I've got some boxcar kits to weather and assemble. I'm already working on those. Only one of the six kits needs the home-made decals, so that project, at least, is "shovel ready."
