Another week is about to end and some may be more ready than others. It's time for Weekend Modeling Plans!

After a rather busy week with the magazine, I'm looking forward to a quiet weekend with just me and Angela. No club work this weekend so my focus will be on Rock Island GP40 #4710. Last night I finished installing all the grab irons and lift rings. Fans were installed the previous night. There are just a few details I need to add and then hopefully on Saturday it will take a trip to the paint shop. If my weekend goes as planned, Sunday will be my decal day. My not so local hobby shop called me on Tuesday to tell me the rest of my Tru-Color paint came in which means my next project, B&M #200 can get started soon. Since the shop is not so local and the weather is supposed to be warm (54 degrees) and we all have cabin fever, it sounds like an excuse to take Angela on a short road trip to pick up paint and get something to eat. All in all, a busy but relaxing weekend.

So how about you? What is on your shops Ready Board as we enter the weekend? Track work, scenery, club work? Whatever you have planned, let us know. We'll come back on Monday the 11th and see how we all did. Don't forget to set all your work shops clocks ahead one full hour Saturday night. We spring ahead for DST or what I call "Normal time". Have a productive weekend, be safe and have fun and...

    High Greens!

I had a busy week last week finishing up the backdrop, installing the tracks for the track lights, laying foam board, and building three structure kits. So to beat my busy week I will start working on the fascia. I should have paint on it by next Friday if all goes well. I will start this on Monday of course.

More snow, more skiing, but no more time. I even forgot to go to my LHS to pick stuff up that's waiting for me. Oh, well, I won't be able to use it until next week, anyway.

On another board, we've got a thread going about modeling a ski lift, so I'll be taking some cell-phone pics of lift details to aid our impromptu online design team. Our friend wants to model an operating chairlift, but wants to scratch-build it and NOT have skiers riding back down after they ride up. The plan is to actually run two loops, a full one going up and an empty one going down, with the returns for each loop hidden beneath the layout or in scenery.

I will be working on the switch project that I am doing for my club. I have to finish the small pushbutton control panel I started Thursday.
