I should say, the last one of 2018! Hard to believe that tomorrow is 2019. It seams for me anyway that 2018 was humming along on notch 8! Let’s see how things went on this last weekend of the year.

Saturday: I spent a few hours enjoying my time off by watching some great model railroading videos on Free-Mo. The concept has always been interesting to me as it focuses more on prototype modeling and branch lines. I’m looking forward in attending the Big E Amherst Show in Springfield Massachusetts next month and seeing some great examples of Free-Mo as well as other layouts and get inspired all over again. I then spent the afternoon with my brother and sister-in-law and watched the new movie about Freddy Mercury. Fascinating movie if your a fan of classic Rock like me.

Sunday: We had Christmas part two as a lot of my gifts from Angela didn’t show up until this past Friday. No train stuff but that’s okay. I spent the afternoon doing some switching on the City Job before taking my parents out for a nice ride along the old B&M ROW then ending the evening with a good Chinese meal. A nice restful weekend.

So how about you? What did you accomplish this past and last weekend of 2018? Let us know. And as an added bonus, let us know what your Model Railroading New Years Resolution will be. We’ll get together again on Friday the 4th of January to start a new thread and new year.

Jim’ Model Railroading New Years Resolution: After much internal debate, I’m getting in to HO and concentrating fully into operations. In fact Free-Mo may be my destination. 2019 looks like a new year of opportunity and I can’t wait.

Until next year, be safe, party safely and as always...

    High Greens!

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Saturday: Had a wonderful day. I went over to a friends house and put on a little painting seminar. I had him and one other guy.
After getting home, I worked a little on my new WOT Allis Chalmer HD-21 bulldozers (2 of them). They will be flat car loads.

Sunday: The Wife and I went over to our daughters place - she and her husband needed a ladder. (He cleaned out his rain gutter).
Then my friend came over to help lay the ground work for setting up operations on my layout. He gave me some great pointers and tips.

Hope Y'all had a great weekend,
    Wolf

All I can say is I can really make a royal mess.been cleaning up the train room and I have a long way to go. Got an idea this weekend on the section I am working on. It will look real cool when finished.

No real modeling resolutions other than to keep plugging away and actually running trains. Been a while since I did that.

    Happy new year!

I didn't get a chance to post this yesterday but I accomplished part of my goal for last week and working on the rest of it today... Most of staging tracks are put down and feeders soldered and dropped below deck... And of course I had to play with a couple engines: https://photos.app.goo.gl/7RLEvE3z58BPvmug9

I still need to clean the track and hook up the rest of the feeders but that will wait until I have the rest of the track down in this area and I can start making sure it will all run perfectly before I get the next level built on top.

Late to the party posting here. Been a loooooong weekend. Been off since December 21. Spent quite a bit of time in the workshop and at the layout. Got quite a bit of "sprucing up" done on the layout. As far as modeling accomplishments,

    1. Spent time in the workshop on some frieight car projects that had piled up. Got about 12 or 13 cars finished. Stuff I've decaled, put together, whatever that just needed weathering and then entered into the "registry". I keep a record of each car that gets done and nothing goes to the layout unless its done and card filled out on it. Got these dudes off my workbench over Christmas. 6 or 7 tank cars, several C&O boxcars, and an Athearn bluebox hopper with Westerfield peak ends glued on, lettered for the 122XXX series that C&O had:

    2. Spent quite a bit of time on the South River Modelworks "H W Meyers" kit I'm building. Worked a lot on the facia. Still have a couple of peices to go. Mocked up the brick building. That needs quite a bit of work. Got the coal tower to about 90% finished. The coal chutes at the bottom of the towers were a pain, but I got them done. Have to build the frieght platforms, shed roofs, and so on. The big thing was deciding how to site it and then cutting out the base. But that's done. Now the detailing and finishing can take place:

We need Christmas break once a month!! Happy New Year all!! Here's to clear, high-greens on all your projects.
