I was just thinking this past Saturday that a full Saturday is equivalent to a few hours of a Monday. I think there is a time distortion in there for those of us still punching the old time clock. At any rate, let’s see how we did. The Friday thread was pretty light and a good indicator of the Holiday Season.

Saturday: Was as I planned. I picked up all the last bits for the Christmas layout Friday morning before work and set out Saturday. I worked all day and by dinner I still needed to finish sand and paint. Agh!

Sunday: However, I switched gears. I got up and went Christmas shopping and to my surprise, I did pretty darn good. I’m almost done. Back at home I set out to sand and paint the display and by 3:00, I was setting the whole thing up under the tree. Now I really, really, REALLY, wish I could say, it was done. Complete with pictures of my little B&M switcher and five Christmas cars and a buggy happily trundling down the track but I can’t. I have a lot of track cleaning and one last bug to fix before all is well on the Christmas Elevated line. Maybe by New Years I’ll be done. Lessons learned with this display have been many and next year will see me go another technique. All is fair in love and Railroading.

So how about you? Did you get any Railroading done? If you did, let us know. We’ll assemble again on Friday the 22nd to start our Christmas special Weekend. Until the, work safe, don’t eat too much fruit cake and as always...

    High Greens!

I had a decent modeling weekend --- with a hiccup. I did get the lighting installed in my SD-9 fleet. Then I decided to tackle changing out the sound decoders in my Broadway Limited ATSF E-6's. The "A" unit went without a hitch. The "B" unit --- not so well. She was the cause of me changing the decoders in the first place. I managed to smoke an ESU Loksound Select Micro. What is odd, after the smoking -- and removing said smoked decoder, I hard wired it for DC operation -- she runs fine. So, what the heck is going on-? --- Oh well, I'll figure it out )I hope - LOL). I am waiting for a reply from ESU regarding their warranty.

Hope Y'all had a great weekend,
    Wolf

I worked a little bit on my Team track Yard yesterday. Did a bit of painting of my rails. I Didn't get much done though because it's just too cold down there. So I went Christmas shopping and bought myself a new dress. My kind of Christmas.

I've noticed that myself. So I take pictures as I go along.

I planted another 45 trees and test fit some power poles. I’m taking the rest of the year off, so hopefully I can get another 100 or so trees made and added to the scene. 05A571CD-4A2F-443E-B5CE-E346915913CD.jpeg

The poles look good and they have a nice color. Your scene looks pleasantly bucolic. I could set up my chair and set down my basket and drink a little wine while waiting for a train. I will save it to my favorites folder.
