Well it’s time once again to plan for the weekend. Again, not much for me. My biggest goal is to order some track for the layout so I can fix it next weekend but other than that, not much. I plan to wait on doing anything more until after the big show in a few weeks. So how about you? What do you have planned? Let us know. We’ll come back on Monday the 7th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, be safe and as always... High Greens!
I hope to get the decaling done on my friends NYO&W NW2's. That's about it -- for the moment. Perhaps I'll start on a Rock Island project I've had in the wings for a very long time. Y'all have a great weekend, Wolf
Start hooking up Tortoise machines I installed in the sraging yard. They’ll be controlled by 4 Digitrax DS64’s. 17 total routes. Will also work on scenery I started last weekend (cardboard shell and plaster). I was able to find a good source of plaster cloth so I ordered 8 rolls Sunday night and got it this week, so I’m good to go. Have a great, modeling-productive weekend.
Loading dock for the long warehouse... 8 sections of 3-D printed docks off an auction site. Glued together over a cardboard base added some brush along the trackside. Debated grouting the joins but decided to see how it looked this way. Waiting for the glue to set... Ordered some styrene sheets to hopefully start scratch building the warehouse but that will be next weekend I think. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
We will see what happens. I have lots to do in the train room. Everything from electronics to plaster cloth.
I have a rather busy schedule this weekend with tomorrow being almost fully booked with travel to/from Sacramento CA (leaving around 7:30AM and won't be back home until close to 3PM) but my plans for the weekend (as posted in my layout thread here): add feeders for the three new staging tracks wire CT coils for detection circuits install staging DCC bus wires cut wood for the helix (still have 1 1/4 turns ready to put in but was waiting for staging track to be in and complete first) cut a ton of spacers for the helix turns install programming track (low priority) start to implement LCC on ESP32
I hope to finish wiring feeders for my small modular yard. I added a 20" extension to facilitate a tail/drill track a couple weeks ago. Today I glued track down, added track bus, and Loconet cable. I know it does not look or sound very exciting but when my small group sets up we will now be able to have a dedicated freight yard with a separate intermodal yard. This will help us sort for the Port of LA and outlying switching, separately. Shoot, we may need more people but that's a good problem.
Working on installing a can motor (complete) and adding all wheel pickup to the tender (currently being planned over a cup of coffee) to one of my NYC brass engines. The coffee is important.
