Hi, I am new to this forum and need some help on authenticating this video. I did not know who to ask so I figured TrainBoard.com is a good place to start. video here The vid shows a jeep getting hit on the tracks somewhere in the desert. Apparently someone was strapped to the front bumper at the time and you can see what "appears" to be legs coming out from under the jeep after the wreck, the video is not in any way "gory" though so do not worry about that. The engine car says Union Pacific on it and it is carrying cars with "Mitsui OSK lines" printed on them. Any help on determining whether this is real or not would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!
Yep it's real, no question about it. Whether someone intentionally set the jeep on the rails or were acting like an idiot by illegally crossing the rails, that can't be determined, but it is in fact real.
I haven't seen it as I have an oversized calculator for a computer, but it sounds like a FRA demo. I have seen clips of those before, the other one I've seen was an old UP U boat hitting one of those numerous yellow school buses
It is a real video taken by an amature judging by the jerky motion and rapid swings around the scene. It was a group of dirt trackers running up over the tracks jumping the right of way for thrills when one jeep got high centered on the rails, by the evidence. There is a large crowd gathered, with people climbing over reailroad cars, and some bike riders going under the tracks just at impact. My opinion is that it was an accident that occured close to Giamis, Nevada. Just my guess.
Watash, I think you mean Glamis, California. From what I've heard this is an old video. Aparently some young girl took her dads jeep w/o permission and got it stuck on the tracks.
You are correct Chad, I am really getting older every day! Pretty soon I wont remember how many candles were on my cake when I was five.
CRS - I resemble that remark!!! Sometimes! But, beware, CRS is the early stages of something even worse, called CRAFT. Also note, that forgetting things is 1 of three signs of old age. I don't remember the others though!!
